Ok, so for us, an awesome breakfast restaurant experience has to include good coffee. They feature Santa Barbara Roasting, enough said. The food portions are so big and the food was hot and tasty. The country breakfast with their biscuits can't be beat. Best breakfast in Ventura, hands down.

Just had the most amazing breakfast if all time! Chiyen beef hah was awesome! The home made strawberry jam was incredible, and the biscuits were the size of grandpas fist, but broke apart in soft layers. I also have to mention the desk fruit. This want some cheap melons thrown into a cup. This was berrys and pineapple and banana. I can't say enough about this place, truly amazing

This is the best homemade corned beef hash I've ever had. Throw that in with homemade biscuits and gravy, fresh coffee and friendly service and you've got yourself a winner.

Hands down the best Biscuits and Gravy Ever! They have a Deluxe B&G which they top with freshly cooked bacon and sausage bits it is amazing. Everything is very good here. My wife always orders the Al's Avacado omelette and she swears by it. Like the other reviews say you have to get here early on the weekends or you will wait for a long time but it is worth it no matter how long you have to wait.

It's still the best breakfast in Ventura. The worst thing I can say about it is, you need to get there before 9 on the weekends. Any later than that, and you might wait an hour for a booth.

It's traditional American fare, done right. They make their own biscuits, which are fluffy and tender. They make their own raspberry jam to go with the biscuits. And on the weekend, they make their own banana walnut bread, which is the basis of the outstanding Fresh and Fruity French toast. It's served with fresh seasonal fruit, plain yogurt, and walnuts. It's a huge serving, but then again, so are most of their breakfasts.

If you're really hungry, the Country breakfast with eggs, biscuits, and sausage gravy is the best I've had outside Mississippi. The omelets are fluffy, and the best is probably Al's Avocado Omelet. Unfortunately, neither of the potato side dishes (O'Brien or hashed) is consistently good. They're not bad, just not great, either. I usually prefer the hash browns.

They leave a carafe of coffee on the table so refills are never a problem. The few times I haven't been impressed with the service, it was a new employee. Either they get better, or they dodn't stick around.

We love this place, been going there since the 1990s. While ownership changed in that time, the food has remained fantastic. The biscuits and gravy or eggs benedict are the best in Ventura. Highly recommend it, 0oh and dont forget the jam- it is awesome.

I just stumbled on this little place, and it was soooo good that I had to keep coming back for the rest of that week. Great, happy wait staff and even better food.
