My wife and I first tried this restaurant a year ago...it was delightful, great food, good service, definitely worth visiting again.
This week we were back in Hollywood, so tried it again...Just as delightful, great breakfast, great choices, beautifully presented, hot food, delicious, gracious, attentive and charming waitress Danielle. If your experience is anything like ours, you'll return again and again to this off the beaten track, but first class dining establishment.

my friend an i having been going to breakfast on saturdays and trying to find a new restaurant to go to each saturday or go back to one that we found to be excellent i.e. mama mia's on vermont ave. i found an ad for square one in the newspaper so we decided to try it. the food was horrible. my friend had baked eggs with grits, which was all dried out and brunt black on the sides of the bowl. i ordered chorizo and eggs it was so bad the chorizo tasted like hambuger with spices on it, my eggs were all runny. the potatoes although they looked like they had spices on them were tasteless. as a matter of fact i still have the taste of that chorizo in my mouth and it is 6:45 in the evening. we will never go back to this restaurant or recommend it to anyone else. this breakfast cost us just over $30.00 and to pay this much for such bad food makes me feel like a fool. we both said we wished we had gone to denny's instead

I've never been disappointed there. They have pancakces and French toast, several kinds of benedicts, oatmeal, standard egg dishes, and my favorite, the baked egg dishes. These come in a piping hot skillet, and my current favorite is the one with Chorizo, Gruyere, tomato, onion and roasted bell pepper served on a tortilla (inside the little skillet), and topped with a dab of salsa. It's kind of spicy, but very tasty. The last time, the eggs were overcooked, but it didn't seem to matter, as the remaining ingredients kept it from being dried-out.

I've also had the salmon benedict, which comes over a shredded potato pancake instead of an English muffin. This was okay, but the potato got a little soggy, and this texture malfunction really took away from the dish as I worked through it.

The coffee there is very good, as is the fresh-squeezed orange juice.

It's not cheap for breakfast, but we usually get out of there for about $15 (per person before tip).
