Let me start by pointing out that each franchise is differently owned and staffed. But...

a number of years ago I found myself at the Bickford's just outside Portsmouth. Granted, I was there at an odd hour (late night). But...

it took the waitress 30 minutes to find our table. It took our grilled sandwiches 45 minute to make it to our table--and we were practically alone in there. The food was overcooked AND cold, the waitress was a surly troll, and I have never gone back. Nor will I.

Just watch out for that one...
