The hospitality is down to earth. The coffee is always fresh, the Biskets & gravy are great. It feels like old timy and at home rather than a restruant. Once I became a regular they had my breakfast memorized. The ladies are sweet, and they always take good care of me. If for some odd reason your order is wrong don't worry, they will take care of it right away. See yah there...6:30AM

We used to be frequent customers of Avalon. It was a favorite breakfast and occasional dinner choice for my two kids, husband and myself. But the former Manager moved on to open his own place in Humble, and with him went the great service and excellent breakfast food we were used to. We went back three times afterward, and each time the service and food got worse.
(We feel sorry for the waitresses who have been there since the beginning, because they are not the problem but are likely suffering the consequences.)

I understand there were three Avalon's in Houston, one has since closed their doors. We fell in love with the Stafford location years ago and have not had Breakfast anywhere since finding this one, known as Avalon Diner # 3. We have met the owners and surely like them, nice people with a family of their own. Mrs. Barnes sends us monthly coupons, prize updates (contests), invites our children in often to help her in "the kitchen" (they make their own ice cream treats), it is very kind of her to do these things. Very appreciated. Her husband, Mr. Barnes, he is at the Diner 24 hours a day! Making sure he greets us when we do come in, which, by the time, is at LEAST 3 times a week, we are made to feel at home here. And if you ever have a problem, just do as I did, ask for the manager, they will take care of you right away!! I could go on and on about the food and service by their staff but you get the point, if you haven't eaten here, you must go. You will receive a bang for your buck, plus!
