First of all, I have to say that I have no idea what Jilly is talking about. Thyme in the Ranch is a charming cafe in the heart of Rancho Santa Fe. Everything there is so fantastic! The soups, salads, and sandwiches are so fresh and delicious, and they always look so great. The baked goods are so tasty, and definitely made fresh every morning. My favorite thing to get there would have to be the Chicken Papaya Salad and for desert the White Chocolate Toffee Cookie or any of the delicious cakes. I have been coming to Thyme in the Ranch since it opened and although the lines have gotten longer, the food is such a great reward. After all the years of going to Thyme in the Ranch, I have gotten to know the owners, Dawn and Shane. They work at the cafe everyday; Shane works in the kitchen and Dawn works on the counter. I am absolutely in love with this perfect little cafe. It has to be the best in San Diego!

I think the food here is really good. But it is time, actually way OVER time that the owners take a look and realize that their business model does NOT work. I stood in line for a good 20 minutes, and then waited 35 minutes for my food. Never get a refill unless I track someone down. And the owners walk around with clueless grins on their faces like it's all good. Well, I have been going there since it opened and they have lost me as a customer. No place is worth being treated like "we will give you whatever lousy service we want you LIKE it!" No, take a pass here unless you go off hours and then, you will enjoy looking at all the messy tables the staff can't keep up with to clean off. Too bad...they can cook, but they treat their customers badly.

I just moved here from New York - I now live in Solana Beach. One of my friends introduced me to Thyme in the Ranch. The food is so fresh and tasty. I had a wonderful chicken salad platter with fruit. The coffee was just wonderful.

I love love love love Thyme in the Ranch! I go there for lunch almost every day and it is the best! I personally love their cobb salads, but then again I am a cobb salad lover. But my most favorite thing about Thyme In The Ranch is their desserts! The pumpkin pies, brownies, cookies, cakes, rasberry crumble things! My favorites are the pumpkin pie, apple pie, and the white chocolate toffee cookies. And the really wonderful part about it all is that all the food they have is made by themselves, right in their kitchen, so it all has that great homemade taste! I love thyme in the ranch!

I'm a bit biased because I used to work here, but since having moved out of the area, I still rely on all the recipes I learned there to fill my own dinner table. Their muffins are truly scrumptuous--blackberry peach, strawberry coconut, blueberry apple, raisin walnut bran--they change based on what is in season. Also, the cinnamon rolls are to die for--and the cranberry or orange-date scones. Whenever I make this stuff at home for overnight guests I get rave reviews. Everyone wants to know the recipes. If ever I'm back in the San Diego Area and the Purcells are still running Thyme in the Ranch, I'll sign on to do it all over again!!!!

The best oatmeal! The owner bakes his own pastries EVERY morning starting at 4:00am. Recently remodeled, this cafe is beautiful. Watch out for long lines, even though the food is worth the wait. Grap some extra pastries to take home, you don't want to miss anything. This place is the wealthy local's favorite. Keep an eye out for celebs! Thyme also keeps odd hours Tuesday-Saturday 7:00am - 3:00pm. They are closed Sunday and Monday. They also take many vacations where they close down for a week at a time. This place is not to be missed for breakfast OR lunch.
