I went during the week when it was a little quieter and was waited on by Wade, who is a sweetheart. He is attentive and friendly without being fake. I had a order of carrot raisin pancakes which was a special made with whole wheat batter....yummy with whipped butter and hot syrup!! I had fresh squeezed tangerine juice and coffee in a mug which has their 25th birthday logo on it! All in all a very pleasant morning.

I go there at least three times a week..they are celebrating their 25th birthday, and the owner is extremely hospitable and on site almost every day. I especially like their cabo quesadilla which comes with a homemade salsa verde which is great!! I believe it is made with tomatillos. Their espresso is really strong as it should be and they use an organic sumatran from a local san diego company called cafe moto, I know because I asked and the owner kindly gave me some beans to try at home!! Really cool place.

I ordered a belgian waffle and when I had gotten it I took a bite out of it and it had hard plastic all over the top of the waffle, I hurt my teeth when I bit into it. When my breakfast had come out it didn't look very appetizing in the first place, so the waiter comped that & I ordered somehting else and that also did not look too appetizing so I did not eat that and sent it back also. We had asked to see the manager/owner and the waiter didn't get back to us on the manager situation and when we left we still hadn't spoken to the manager, the waiter told us that she refuses to come out of the kitchen to speak to us. we were standing near the kitchen door and we saw her peering through the kitchen door a couple of times to see if we had left, then she finally came out because she had to seat people. We told her that was poor business practice to not come out and speak with your patrons and she asked how, and she said she doesn't have to talk to you. We told her that she has lost customers and that we will tell all of our friends and that word of mouth travels fast. the manager/owner said "I'm sorry your feeling so hateful today!" then after her being so rude to us she said "have a nice day."

Best breakfast place in Hillcrest; consistently great eggs and service..very fast paced and efficient service by longtime waitrons..Excellent stratas and specials like the blueberry biscuit bundt cake french toast!!AWSOME.

Awsome service and great hearty breakfasts like their robinson avenue omelette..and they have different stuff like creme brulee french toast and yucatan tostadas. The staff in the kitchen has been there forever and the owner works the floor so things move along very quickly, which is great!! They serve fresh juices and fresh hash browns which I LOVE!!
Great casual atmosphere.
