We retired and moved to Fresno in 2005. Gillwood's Cafe is the best breakfast anywhere; better than anything in Oceanside or Carmel by the Sea. They're chicken fried steak competes with the best in Texas. Friendly, good coffee while you wait for a table, home made pastries.

It was a satisfying meal, but far from the fabulous food at the Beach Break Cafe in Oceanside, CA. Very pleasant pedestrian mall setting. Coffee was good, service was pleasant and fast. The best yet in Napa.

I eat at Gillwoods on a regular basis due to the fact that they are so great. My favorite breakfast is the Greek scramble, sub olives for mushrooms (Spinach, Feta & Mushrooms) with fruit & a Blueberry muffin on the side. The best part about Gillwoods is all the choices, the worst part is trying to decide. Did I mention that they have the best muffins in the world? If they opened earlier in the morning I'd eat there everyday.

Gillwoods in the most popular breakfast restaurant in Napa Valley. The food is very, very good, and most breakfasts run in the $6-10 range. The Eggs California with house made Hollandaise sauce is particularly recommended. A very nice atmosphere is complimented by availible outdoor seating in the summer.
