This restaurant has to win the prize for best restaurant in LA! First, Vienna Cafe has great sidewalk/patio dining, so you can enjoy the people watching on Melrose Avenue - a popular hang out and shopping street in Hollywood. The breakfast options range from California-Mexican fusion dishes, to higher end options like a Lobster Benedict or Lobster Quesadilla, and the standard fare such as Brioche French Toast and Ham & Egg Croissant Sandwiches. I don't think anything on the menu is over $12.99 (even lobster!) The service was friendly, attentive, and not overbearing. The best part - they give you a free loaf of homemade bread to take home as their thank you. FREE! And it's delicious! I'd recommend this to ANYONE! Best breakfast in LA!

I had breakfast last Sunday at the Vienna Cafe and I'm happy to report that it was the best breakfast experience I've had so far in 2009. The service was exceedingly friendly... not just our waiter... but every employee who happened to go by our table.

For starters, this cafe offers a complementary basket of freshly baked bread and an olive oil and Parmesan spread. My belly was satisfied before I got the chance to order.

For my entree, I had a Mexican dish called Migas (eggs scrambled with beef chorizo sausage, bell peppers, sliced jalapenos and Monterey jack cheese, topped with crushed tortilla chips and Pico de Gallo, served with a flour tortilla) and it was fantastic... spicy and full of flavor.

My girlfriend, at the time, opted for a dish called Duo (home baked raisin brioche French toast with scrambled eggs). I had a taste and I'd recommend their French toast to anyone.

The prices are reasonable by local standards with most of their breakfast entrees coming in between $7.00 and $10.00.

To cap off an already-perfect breakfast, the waiter brought us out a giant, beautiful loaf of sourdough... for free. That morning, every table received a free loaf of bread or a bag of rolls. I don't know if they do that every morning. Please post a review of your own and let me know if you got some too.

Vienna Cafe on Melrose is trying very hard to keep their customers happy and it's working. Great job Vienna Cafe.

The friendliest service within miles. The servings are large and the food is almost always amazingly delicious.

Standouts on the breakfast menu are their French Toast with raisin brioche and a nice selection of Eggs Benedict dishes, including a Lobster Benedict that is especially delightful.

This is my number one spot to eat on Melrose Blvd.
