If the right cook is working, you can get a still decent meal. But it is usually the luck of the draw. The Texans are a far cry from the quality they were years ago when they first opened. Back then the quality and service were first rate and the customer came first. Now the food is mediocre at best, service is up to which waitress you get, and there seems to be no quality standards anynmore.

Sometimes you get a nice helping of food, other times you get the weightwatcher portion. I have been living in Mid-Michigan for over 40 years and Tony's Texan was "the place" to eat in the 70's and early 80's, now it has fallen into the "well, were already here" catagory.

Had to ask for a refill on my coffee. Then waited a half an hour for desert When I told them I could not wait any longer and had an hour drive yet to get home. The bill still included the desert we never got. Not a good place to take your family!

The Texans' (there are a couple in mid-Michigan) are nothing special. They have been in need of a facelift. Having lived in Midland for 8 years, we stopped in the Texan once. My wife said it smelled like "cat pee" and didn't stay. We didn't go back.

Better choices in Midland are Omlettes and More (downtown), Bob Evans, Big Boy. The BE and BB are chains but very well run and quite pleasant.

Service is VERY slow. The meal is well prepared, but it took over 25 minutes to get a begal and a skillet meal.

Service can be a problem at this restaurant. Have had good food and bad here. At one time it was one of the best breakfast restaurants in Midland.

Tony's Texan Restaurant is where the locals go for
a good breakfast value. The food and service are good.
It can be somewhat noisey and busy on the weekend.
