I want to begin this review with a positive. The service was wonderful! It was personal, friendly, and we never wanted for a thing. I wish I could say nice things about the food. The menu is large and a lot of nice sounding selections. There are actually so many that it's hard to know what to get. It all sounds tasty! That is where it ends. The food is high priced and served lukewarm and I can say with all honesty I have had hotter food from a fast food restaurant. I got a cafe latte and was totally disappointed with the taste and temperature. The Croque Monsieur was barely melted at all. For the prices being charged, I was expecting a lot better. This could be a really neat place...the atmosphere is nice and a very cool concept, but they really do need to do some work when it comes to originality and temperature!

I have been eating at this Eggspectations for 6 years. The quality of food and service is not as good as when it first opened. The menu is certainly creative and most things (especially the various eggs benedict selections) are very good. All of the breads need an upgrade, nothing good to write about. Desserts are excellent if you a serious sweet tooth at Breakfast time. Coffee is tasty and plentiful.

I have to say that our breakfast was a disappointment.

The food tasted good, but it was not very warm to say the least. The dining area did not feel chilly, so the food must have sat some place under a cold draft or the plates were cold enough to drain the heat from the food. I do have to say that the hostess and our server were courteous and professional.

I had the “Chesapeake Benedict”. Before I had eaten half of the first egg, my food was room temperature. I actually tried warming it up by holding it over my hot coffee. The crab meat tasted ok, but it was far from lump – it looked like it had been worked over by a high speed mixer. My wife had the “Yoke Around The Clock”. Her eggs were also about room temperature, but the potatoes were not even that warm.

I was not brave enough to send the food back to be reheated, but I did send my comments in via the company web site – basically a waste of time. I do not think I would stop here again even if I was driving by the place.

I agree with the majority of the ratings that I just read..over rated for the quality. Service was not that good...it was busy there and very noisy. The atmosphere was horrible..like sitting in a decorated warehouse. I like to start my day off in a relaxed atmosphere..this was hectic. The food was bland for the $$. Coffee was weak.

For all the hoopla we heard about this place, it sucked in all possible ways!

As another reviewer here commented, having eggs listed with various combinations does not mean an extensive or varied menu!

My order arrived with cold potatoes cooked with industrial strength PAM (or PAM like substance), the fruit was hot, and the crepe cold, rubbery and bland.

The waitress was quite flusterd when I asked that it be taken back. She had the manager come over and I explained why I was requesting that it be returned. He found it easier to just take it off my bill rather than offer to remake or to offer another entree. I think this indicated that he would rather just get folks in and out.

The prices were definately not in line with the quality or quantity of the items served. The orange juice was the biggest rip-off!

Crowded and noisy.
Good breakfast chow and decent service.
Good for a change of pace now-and-then.

Average at best. But oh so expensive. LOUD and NOISY! This is due to the industrial decor. I had to yell at the waiter. I didn't have an orgasm about the menu - unlike others. Just because there are omeletes with a variety of fillings and pancakes/waffles with a variety of toppings doesn't mean a place has a HUGE menu (ohmygod! a la Meg Ryan). Yuppie heaven. Lots of screamy kids. Don't even go into the parking lot if you have a hangover.

This was my first visit there...but I think Eggspectation was well worth the wait, which by the way wasn't that long ( And we went during the "Sunday Brunch Crowd" hour). I have recomended it to everyone I speak to because not only was the food Fresh, Delicious and Hot, the choices were beyond your imagination! Loved the fresh squeezed OJ!! I watched the food come out to other patrons and kept changing my mind, because "EVERYTHING" looked so good. Our waiter was not only courteous, but very attentive, even for a busy Sunday brunch hour!! Plus I wasn't rushed to hurry up so he could turn over the table.
Believe me, I will return again. I love it!!!!!! :-D

Lots of yummy sounding menu items, but food itself was lack-luster, bland and generally disappointing. Way too expensive for the quality.

90 minute wait for 2 on a Sunday. No call-in reservations accepted.

Once seated, service was excellent. Waitress was friendly, knowledgable and prompt.

For a Boutique restaurant. the bagels are not fresh like you could get at Bagel Bin or Einstein Bros., or Panera.

The food is pretty good. Definitly better than going to Bob Evans down the street.

The prices on OJ are outrageous... could bring your own half gallon carton for less than a 10 oz glass.

Pricing was in line with selection of specialty ommlettes but not Bob Evans range

Eggs were not greasy, potatoes were fresh cooked and the wait on a Sunday noon was only 20 min for a party of 6.

Chocolate pancakes for the kids and the kids were welcomed as a guest with kids menu and crayons.

I will try lunch or Dinner next time

No Reservations accepted
