Cafe Brazil has been my favorite for breakfast for many years, even a simple salad is addicting here. My favorites? The bread/toast which seems to be served with everything is superb, as mentioned in earlier posts the rosemary potatoes are fabulous, I like mine with a side of the spicy cream sauce they usually serve over the empanadas....DO ask for it next time you go.My omlette of choice includes asagio cheese, portabello mushrooms and spinach. People watching is also great here, everyone from the (usually tipsy)yuppie/collage crowd to the artist quietly bent over his sketchbook at the corner of the bar. Servers? Eclectic, efficient, BUSY!!

I have since moved far from Dallas, but make a point of stopping here when I am in town. Sure, its just a coffee bar, but the ambiance here is the key.

Is there breakfast out side of Cafe Brazil in Dallas? My favorites are the their signature rosemary potatoes you can get as a side for most meals served here. I usually pony up for a BLT and cuppa joe.

They have a coffee bar, so you walk up and pour your own from about 12 different selections.

The Cafe Brazil in Lakewood has been around for a long time. The reason is because of the servers...Everyone there is unique in their own way. In TIGHT corporate resturants everyone looks the same like robots. At the Cafe you can tell who the creative ones are. The food is great because it is unique also. The desserts are to DIE for!!!!
NEED TO VISIT SOON!!!!

I ordered the pancrepes, and was very disappointed. They were not your standard crepes, and I'm sure Cafe Brazil was trying for something different. The crepes came folded in triangles, then a variety of fruit (not the best variety either - grapes, bananas, cantaloupe, melon, and one strawberry) was placed in the middle of the plate with a very heavy fruit sauce poured over it. My husband ordered the migas, and said they were good, but not great. We'll go back one more time just to give them another chance, but that will be it.

I couldn't believe it when I saw the list of Dallas' Best Breakfasts and Cafe Brazil was not on the list. I haven't lived in Dallas for 6 years, but I make it back every year to visit and Cafe Brazil is still on the top of my list. They offer at least 5 airpots filled with different flavors of incredible coffee. Cups are piled up beside the coffee. So if fresh half/half and milk. You can grab yourself a cup while you wait. Then when you're seated you can go back and refill as often as you want instead of waiting for your waiter. The menu is HUGE. And runs the gamut from "choose your own fillings" for omelets to huevos rancheros to my favorite, the Mexican omelette, complete with jalepeno peppers. On the side you get rosemary potatoes instead your same old hash browns. The toast is, of course, Texas toast. Did I mention the coffee? The service is quick and friendly. The people watching is even better. The place is bright and airy with tropical murals painted on the walls. Nothing can compare to Cafe Brazil. You've got to try it!
