Been a long time dinner patron and recently had an excellent breakfast experience at the Uptown. Great atmosphere, service, and food!

This place is not only excellent for breakfast, but lunch and dinner too. Everything on the menu is pretty gourmet and wow, with nice presentation, etc. Not at all Hoosier-like. Not super cheap either. But it's the place to go when you want delicious, great food in a casual atmosphere without paying an arm and a leg. They get sorta fancy for dinner, with white table cloths, candles, etc. A nice place for a romantic dinner. We love breakfast here because you can always get some interesting twist on the regular old pancakes or whatnot, plus they have a coffeecake that is obscene it's so good. Decent espresso drinks. House coffee pretty bad if you're a coffee snob. My only other complaint -- portions could be slightly larger. Otherwise, this is our favorite place in Bloomington for any meal of the day. Great service. Non-smoking (hooray).

Signature spicy hash browns, rockin' omelettes, killer quiche, biscuits & gravy, and lots more on the menu - and they'll make it however you want it. Fresh yummy veggies, great cheeses, and andouille sausage are standard here. You can even have them bring you a mimosa carafe. Tons of townie regulars - you'll wait for a table, but it's worth it.
