New Product Review:
I tried 2 varieties of El Monterey Signature Taquitos: 1) Egg, Cheese Sauce & Sausage; and 2) Egg, Cheese & Applewood Bacon. The taquitos are roughly 6 inches long with a 1 inch diameter. Both are just mildly spicy. Of the two, I narrowly preferred the bacon variety.
There are 2 recommended cooking methods. You can bake in the oven for 13 minutes or you can microwave 2 at a time for 60 seconds. I strongly suggest you take the time to make them in the oven. The tortilla gets pleasantly tender in the middle and crisp on the edges. In the microwave, the tortilla becomes chewy and nondescript. The overall flavor is better when baked.
When baked, the Egg, Cheese Sauce & Sausage is quite enjoyable. It's cheesy. The sausage is great, but you do get some bites with no sausage. The egg is tender and the filling to tortilla ratio is just fine. You get occasional bites where you taste green chilies. Those are the best bites.
I liked the Egg, Cheese & Applewood Bacon a slight bit more. You get smokey bacon flavor in every bite. The cheese is a little less noticeable than in the sausage variety. Similar to the other variety, the bacon taquitos have occasional bites with jalapeno which add more depth to the overall flavor.
If you're willing to bake them, I think you should try them. The rating of 5 golden eggs is based on the product when baked. I would give it a rating of 3 golden eggs when microwaved.

Loaded with fat... it's not bacon, it's huge pieces of thick white fat.
