Shady business practices, PRICY & boring food, FILTHY interior...but great desserts:
as of 1/30/11 when we ate here for breakfast after a 20 minute wait which is OK for a popular joint, the menu no longer reflects the actual prices that you will be charged...you WILL pay extra for toast, french fries and all those sides that the menu says are included, very expensive for what you get (much better food/coffee at the griddle in hollywood), they haven't dusted the interior for months and months, you can see heavy dust on their air ducts hanging over your heads (and plates of food), BUT the pop tarts & ding dongs are great! we would have enjoyed the maple bacon donut if it was FRESH, but it was stale.

The tastiest and most unique breakfast in downtown L.A. You have to try their Maple Bacon Donut and their homemade pop-tarts. Wow! They have a big breakfast menu and the prices are very reasonable for downtown. I highly recommend trying the Nickel.
