LOOKING FOR A NICE BREAKFAST SPOT? GO SOME PLACE ELSE. OLD OLD RESTAURANT, GREASY LOOKING PLACE. GREASY FEELING TABLE SETTINGS NEEDS TO BE UPDATED. WALLPAPER FALLING DOWN, OLD STYLE DECORATING. WHEN IT CAME TO SELECTION A MEAL, YOUR CHOICE IS WHAT YOU WOULD EXPECT AT A TRUCK STOP OR GREASY SPOON. ONLY GO THERE IF YOU ARE DESPERATE. BELIEVE ME THIS IS NO 5 STAR JOINT.

This is a super casual, funky, eclectic place with lots of hidden seating and friendly staff. I'm pretty sure the hours are 6 am to 2 pm daily. The food choices are endless and the place is busy. We love it.

George, the owner and chef, offers a great menu, including brats, Polish, steak in addition to bacon, sausage, ham, corned beef hash with your eggs and home fries/hash browns. He also has slammers, scrambles, and daily specials - which on Sat/Sun include a huge list of various Benedicts (crab, salmon, steak, etc.) There's also biscuits and gravy to die for (daily.) Mimosas made with Merlino's Orange Freeze will really perk up your weekend! The servers and other staff are exceptionally capable and experienced - and the place is just downright friendly, including the customers. There's a couple of attached patios. George opens around 6:30 or earlier (if he gets there earlier) and lunch is available as well, with pizza and daily specials. DO NOT expect upscale ambiance. DO expect great food, good service, friendly atmosphere. I'm fortunate to live within walking distance, and you'll find me there often. You'll frequently see many Sacramento "movers and shakers" who've discovered this hidden treasure!
