Nice space, bright & airy with lots of windows. Coffee was really top notch - we like ours strong and I'm of the leave-the-pot-on-the-table camp. Oh, were optimistic at this point.

The food let us down. It's true, the menu favors some more eclectic offerings (Crepeggs, anyone?) while missing some classics (what do you mean, no Benedict?!). I can live with that. But the First Watch Potatoes (which they've actually trademarked) were bland and, even worse, barely warm. Pancakes were fine (hard to screw up pancakes) but the omelette was entirely forgettable.

All in all we found First Watch a pretty mixed bag, maybe partly redeemed by the excellence of the coffee. Three eggs.

Huh? What? Of course they have toast. They also have a choice of English muffins and other carbos. Yes, they have an a la carte section on the menu, and they have a normal breakfast available for those who have no adventure in their souls. And why is it a hardship to pour your own coffee from a carafe on your table? It's a quality thermos, and it doesn't dribble unless you're exceptionally uncoordinated. The only problem I ever see with this restaurant is the long line of people waiting to get in. (The solution is to be there at 7:00 AM).

Doesn't Apply

Too many odd combinations for breakfast and no ala carte choices for those of us who enjoy a "normal" breakfast. No toast. What kind of breakfast is that?? They won't take reservations for large parties (7 or more). Homefry potatoes are good. For coffee, they gave us a pot for the table, so that's why I am not applying the "coffee refill rating" as the server doesn't have to do it. Food was lukewarm. This is the second First Watch I've dined at and I won't bother going back.

This establishment specializes in breakfast. They are also open for lunch, but lunch closely resembles breakfast. The place is frequented by ladies in dresses and men in suits, though there is no dress code (beyond "shirt and shoes required" of course). The parking lot is full of BMW's and so forth. (My Hyundai looks out of place). They put a pot of coffee on your table. The menu contains a long list of low-carb wraps and items involving fresh fruit and yogurt, though there are also selections of omelettes and breakfast casseroles available. The key word is "healthy."

The place to be seen, if you are a soccer mom, or small business owner.
The parking lot is full of Lexi. Open only for breakfast and lunch. You can get yogurt on your crepes with fresh fruit alongside. Healthy yuppie food.
