A great deal of the food "looked good" as it was going by, but apparently I made the mistake of ordering the mushroom omelet with bechamel sauce and potato pancakes. I scraped all the sauce off after sampling it. Unfortunately, the overpowering nutmeg flavor got into the omelet and I couldn't eat it. The potato pancakes were wretched. They were greasy and flavorless. A pinch of salt would have gone miles. Very disappointing.

If you visit Sequim, visit the Oak Table. Their menu will entice you to come back to Sequim over and over until you've tried everything on their menu.
We've been to Sequim several times, but to the Oak Table only once. Their setting and decor is open and airy, slighly kitchsy, but very nice. It's a nice treat to see all their female servers in skirts.
I had the Eggs Nicole and my wife had a basic breakfast with buttermilk pancakes, bacon and eggs. The freshed squeezed orange juice was a rare treat, and the spinach in the Eggs Nicole was succulent.
The only recommendation I could make to the Oak Table would be to up the quality of coffee. Though it was reasonable standard restaurant fare (Boyds), it wasn't up to par with the rest of the restaurant.
We saw the Apple Pancake as we finished up, being served to another customer. If I wasn't on a carb-limited diet, I'd have tried it out in an instant. What a masterpiece!

Having assumed substantial risk of heart attack, atherosclerosis, and diabetes just to put out the word on great breakfasts globally, my wife and I long ago pinned award for "almost the world's best breakfast" on the Oak Table. Heavenly pancakes, inimitable fluffy french style baked omelettes, their signature concoction the "apple pancake" (a souffle really) of easily 4,000 calories is made from enough sugar, eggs, and butter to cause instant angina, and other specialty concoctions not to be found elsewhere, defy adequate description. For quality of breakfast entrees the OT cannot be matched. The cozy homey ambiance of a beautifully remodeled old house, and the excellent service of a veteran staff, provice perfect context for the heavenly fare. Their only ding is decent but ordinary coffee. Were they to step up to gourmet coffee they could easily claim undisputed top dog rank worldwide.
