Breakfast - typical diner stuff... eggs were fine - orange juice was FRESH, service was mediocre.

Okay. I hate to do this... I'm Mr Breakfast, but I'm forced by nasty circumstance to write a dinner review... a terrible dinner review... as a matter of fact, I'm still at the table at Paty's writing on my laptop waiting for my bill, for some water, for any acknowledgement that I'm still here.

Beside me is a nearly full bowl of their Paty's special penne pasta. I scrapped off the top and ate the cheese... the rest tasted and I do not exaggerate like dirty feet smell. I have never in my life had Italian food that I could not eat. Never... until now... as I continue to wait for the waiter to notice I'm still here. I ate the garlic bread... barely.... somehow they even messed that up.... like perhaps it was made on a grill that wasn't clean... a definate taste of oil.

When I first sat down, there was a bad omen. A man who looks like Neil Diamond sat me. As I look up at him now, I would guess he's the owner or the manager. This fellow that looks like Neil Diamond sat me down in a most unfrindly way... eyeing me skeptically. I'm a well dress adult man, but I got the impression that because I carried a backpack, he took me for a punk kid. When I pulled out a mildly expensive computer from my backbpack, the skepticism seemed to leave his face.

Can you belive I'm still writing and the waiter hasn't come up to me again. He seemed so friendly when he took my order. Did he leave? No... I see him behind the front counter talking to a waitress. My unresponsive waiter has a good head of black hair... he's only slightly portly... the kind of guy who might be handsome if he lost 10 pound.

Wow... I seem to have the time to write a novel before he comes back... and my water glass is empty still. It's at the edge of my table like a beacon.

And finally, here's my waiter with the bill. I'm paying and I'm never coming back again. I know it's not breakfast and you may not considered me qualified to comment, but Paty's is the worst restaurant I've been to in years.

My wife and I stoppped in for some pancakes, eggs and coffee this morning. I have driven down Riverside many times but never was able to stop in to Patys. We were greeted and sat outside on the patio where we given coffee with in two minutes. We placed our order and in 10 minutes we had pancakes and eggs. Pancakes were hot and fluffy and the syrup was served warm which was a nice touch. My wife had eggs which were nice and hot and grease free. Refills were given and it was a nice meal and a comfortable patio we found ourselves wanting to sit and enjoy the time. We will be back.

Was driving through and decided to stop in with my wife and kids. It was a Saturday morning and Patys was real busy. We were greeted nicely and placed our names on a list. We were sat with in five minutes, we were asked if we wanted coffee right away. Coffee was hot and tasty what impressed us was that my wife asked for soy milk and they had it which made my wifes day. They offered a kids menu as well as drinks with fresh made O.J. which was sweet and top notch. The waitress was helpful with the menu items and even had a couple of suggestions. The scrabble was amazing as well as the pancakes. Refills were plenty to the point we made the decision for no more refills. One thing we noticed, was sitting next to us was George Lopez and his family. As we were paying our bill Fritz Coleman the weather man was seated at the counter eating so besides a great breakfast my wife and kids enjoy the star gazing as well. We will be back.

Unfortunately I had a pretty bad time while there for breakfast on 8/20/05. I understand that weekends are pretty busy, but there is no excuse for bad service.

First we get there, get in line and the Hostess seats a couple that was there after us. She failed to ask who was there first! When another couple complains, the Hostess gets offended! Imagine that....

We finally get seated outside and then a man lights up a cigarrette!! I know, you're outside and smokers can light up. No biggee, we moved.

The icing on the cake. The waitress comes by and takes our drink and food order. I had coffee. Not once throughout our meal did the waitress come by and ask me if I needed more coffee!!! I had the multigrain pancakes that need constant washing down or else one chokes. I had to drink water with half my breakfast!

I have had much better service at Denny's!!! At least they come by your table every chance they can to ask if you're okay.

Needless to say, I will not be going back to Paty's ever again.

I like this restaurant. The patty melt and the egg salad on a croissant and the monte cristo are all good. Most of the staff is friendly, and some are especially fun. Sometimes the waffles are cold so be sure they melt the butter on them for you and serve them hot.

I don't drink coffee so I have no rating on their coffee. They have fresh squeezed orange juice which I love but sometimes it's room temperature so ask for ice.

Give it a shot!

After eating at Paty's, every time I drive by this restaurant, I have to shake my head in wonderment that it is always so busy. The food is mediocre, at best. The service is slightly less than average. We had breakfast there and the pancakes were tasteless, the eggs tasted like they were cooked in too much old grease, the toast was undercooked and the coffee was weak. It's worth it to drive out of the area for a good meal.

I think I just had bad luck this morning. My waitress was sort of slow, unorganized and unpleasent. But I could see there was another waitress who seemed very capable and friendly.

I had a simple mushroom and cheddar omelete. It was okay except for one spot where the eggs were a touch runny and the mushrooms were a little cold.

My omelette and coffee came in at $9.29 which is overpriced for the quality and service I received.
