Griddle

A flat metal surface (usually polished steel, chrome-plated, or cast-iron) purposely constructed for cooking. There are three major kinds of griddles: 1) stand-alone units (usually with a handle or handles) that are meant to be placed over a heating unit such as a stove top flame; 2) stand-alone units with their own gas or electic heating element; and 3) those that are built directly into a stove.
