Bread Dosa French Toast

Bread Dosa French Toast

(2 servings)    Printable Version
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 cup of milk
  • 4 slices of bread
  • 2 teaspoons butter
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
Beat egg, milk, sugar in a bowl. Break the bread into bite-sized pieces and add to mixture. Stir until bread is completely moistened.

Melt butter in frying pan at medium-high heat.

Fry both sides of all pieces of bread until golden brown - as you would for French Toast. Heat until it turns golden brown.

Serve hot with syrup or jam.

Note From Recipe Submitter:
Instead of sugar, we can add powdered pepper and salt for the person who hates sweet. This is one of my husband's favorite dishes!

In this French toast dish, the bread is torn into bite-size pieces and then fried so each bite has more delicious egg coating.

Good, but even better if you add a pinch of cinnamon and a dash of nutmeg to the egg and milk mixture.

I make the salt and pepper version with some finely chopped onions, green chillies and coriander.
