OKs
Introduced in 1959
OKs Cereal was promoted as "the best in oats". The cereal pieces came in the shapes of the letters "O" and "K" and were said to taste similar the Cheerios. In fact, most cereal-historians believe OKs Cereal was a failed attempt by Kellogg's to nab some of the market from General Mill's very popular Cheerios.
When the cereal was first introduced in 1959, the cereal box featured a character named Big Otis, a muscular man dressed in traditional Scottish apparel. As the cereal moved into the 1960's, Hanna-Barbera's popular cartoon character Yogi Bear became the face of the cereal. Yogi was usually pictured flexing his biceps, appearing much more muscular than he did in cartoons.
Around 1962, Kellogg's decided to discontinue OKs. The company's product development team was asked to create another cereal that could use the same equipment that made the "O"s in OKs. In 1963, Kellogg's introduced that cereal... Froot Loops.
Know premiums In OKs Cereal:
"Pin-Me-Ups" - In 1962, the backs of specially-marked packages of Kellogg's Corn Flakes and OKs cereals featured large cut-out pictures of characters from Hanna-Barbera including Yogi Bear, Huckleberry Hound and Mr. Jinks.
Free Flip Face - Cut out panels on the back of the box. When put together the dual-sided panels made the face of certain Hanna-Barbera characters.
Also: Wheelzafun box-back-cut-out, Hanna-Barbera Flip Flop Comics, baloon-powered "runaway" locomotive offer, a Yogi Bear cut-out statue, a send-away offer for Lotus Ford Racer model, a magic moon garden offers, a cut-out spacecraft and a Yogi Bear Mystery Message De-Coder.

I really remember this cereal. My mom bought it several times. To me, the taste was similar to Cheerios but Yogi on the box was really special. I do remember when my mom said it wasn't at the store any more and I was disappointed, it probably was around 1963 when I was 4 years old.

I remember OK cereal and really enjoyed eating it. I also snacked on OK cereal without milk. Would really like to see this cereal come back. I miss eating this cereal and have been remembering the taste, which I always thought was better than the other brand.

Please Kellogg's bring back OKs!?! They were my one and only cereal as a kid (born in 1960) I used to eat them as a snack too, straight from the box, dry with no milk. I have no memory of who was the 'Mascot' on the box and if this is shocking to admit, I don't really care! To this day I don't like breakfast cereals, but if OKs were released back on the market, I would be first through the door to buy them! Please, please, please Kellogg's, bring back OKs, the best cereal ever!

Pretty sure I was able to find OKs into the very early 70s when I was shopping on my own. My recollection is that they were a bit more solid than Cheerios and definitely had a distinctive flavor. My favorite cereal ever.

I hadn't thought of OK's for decades until I just purchased a box of Millville Chrispy Oats from Aldi. The taste was distinctly different from Cheerios as they usually taste and immediately brought OK's to mind. Thinking first of the Scottish guy before even remembering the name. What is that taste?

I remember a cut-out castle on the box that may have wrapped around the sides to utilize the box bottom as a stand. This was during the Big Otis period.
