Country Morning With Raisins And Dates
Introduced in 1975
Country Morning was described on the box as "the all natural cereal". The boxes actually featured scenes of the sun coming up - reflecting off of country-style homes or small-town landscapes.
The back of some boxes showed a recipe and encouraged consumers to "treat your family to a delicious, freshly-bakes Country Morning Coffee Cake".
A 1975 advertisement introducing the cereal described it this way:
Kellogg's introduces County Morning. It just might be the best tasting natural cereal around... and we'll put money on it.
All natural, with tasty nuggets of oats, crispy toasted rice, chopped almonds, and brown sugar. So it's crisp-crunchy. With a rich county flavor. Two flavors. One with raisins and dates. One without.
Country Morning. Sure tastes good. And nobody knows "good" like Kellogg's.
Get a taste of Country Morning once again.
Company Description: Kellogg's was originally founded as the Battle Creek Toasted Corn Flake Company in 1906. The company's founder Will Keith Kellogg is credited with inventing corn flakes along with his brother John Harvey Kellogg. The company was renamed the Kellogg Company in 1922... Thank you bunches LaoK! I just happened to check for the recipe again and whalaa here it is. I am going to make them tonight using Nature Valley's new granola cereal. I hope my grandkids like the cookies as much as I did back in my 20s!

I have a recipe card from my mother that gives a recipe for Country Morning cookies:
3 cups Country Morning cereal
1 2/3 c. all purpose flour
1 egg
1 cup margarine
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 t. baking soda
1 t. vanilla
Stir flour and soda together and set aside. Cream margarine and sugar, add egg and vanilla. Add flour and soda mixture. Mix thoroughly. Stir in Country Morning. Drop on greased cookie sheet, and bake at 350 degree F oven. Makes 5 dozen.
