Chiffon Waffles
(8 servings) Printable Version
- 1/3 cup soft margarine or softened butter
- 2 teaspoons sugar
- 2 large eggs - separated
- 1 and 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup milk
Sift together flour, baking powder, sugar and salt. Add to margarine mixture alternately with milk, blending well. Beat egg whites until stiff. Fold in.
Bake in hot, greased waffle iron until steaming stops.
Chiffon definition: (of pastry) having a light delicate texture achieved by whipping or adding whipped egg whites.

Followed the advice of adding more sugar (1/4 c.) and I also added cinnamon. Turned out very yummy and got great reviews from kids and hubby.
