From the June 1935 issue of Good Housekeeping Magazine: an ad for Quaker Puffed Wheat and Puffed Rice cereals featuring the little-known characters of Puffed Wheat (who seems to be part mouse and part bear) and Puffed Rice (who may be part dog and part kangaroo). The characters are made up of puffed rice and puffed wheat body parts. In this ad, they solve a mystery as to why the Smith kid won't eat breakfast.
