Puffed Wheat (Malt-O-Meal)
From: Malt-O-Meal
Introduced in 1965

This cereal was introduced the same year as Malt-O-Meal Puffed Rice. The cereals were created to take a bite out of sales of of Quaker's Puffed Rice and Puffed Wheat.

Most packages of this bargain-priced cereal encourage consumers to "compare (it) to Quaker Puffed Wheat", sometimes saying, "Betcha can't taste the difference."

Company Description: The Malt-O-Meal Company dates back to 1919 when John S. Campbell developed a hot wheat breakfast cereal he called Malt-O-Meal. The company officially adopted the name The Malt-O-Meal Company in 1953. By 1965, the company had entered the ready-to-eat non-hot breakfast sector with the introduction of Puffed Rice and Puffed Wheat cereals.... Read on and see all cereals from Malt-O-Meal

I love plain puffed wheat. It is the cereal invented by Alexander (Puffed Wheat) Anderson in Northfield Minnesota. I do not like the 'Glopped up' stuff with CORN SYRUP and so-called HONEY. Bring back REAL PUFFED WHEAT!

Great cereal, hard to find any brand in stores, but available online... Nature's Path and Arrowhead to name two. Also available on east coast (D.C. area) in some large supermarkets under a private label. Too bad it is not available in stores I shop in in the Midwest.

I need this Malt-O-Meal Puffed Wheat for a cookie recipe I have, plus it is such a great between-meals snack. Please consider making it again!

Bring back Puffed Wheat! Why is this so hard to find. The Quaker version isn't in any of my stores either. What's going on?

Please bring back Puffed Wheat. It has always been my favorite breakfast cereal for over 50 years. It has also been my go-to comfort food since childhood (especially when combined with Golden Puffs when I needed an extra sugar boost).
