This "special edition" cereal was described on the front of the box as "cocoa dusted multi-grain flakes with sliced almonds."

This cocoa-coated flake cereal was a welcome departure from other recent "chocolatey" Special K product line extensions like Chocolatey Delight Special K (2007) and Chocolatey Strawberry Special K (2013) which provided chocolate flavor in the form of waxy pieces of artificial chocolate.
