Ripple Crisp
From: General Mills
Introduced in 1993

This cereal was described on the box as "a whole new kind of flake that stays deliciously crisp in milk!" It was promoted with the line "The Shape Of Flakes To Come". There were two varieties (that we know of): Golden Corn and Honey Bran.

The back of one Ripple Crisp box described the product like this:

"Old flake cereals were flat. Milk just sat on them, making them soggy... But a new idea in cereal has taken shape. Ripple Crisp is the revolutionary new flake with ripples. Ripples keep out the milk and lock in the flavor for a crisp, delicious taste in milk!"

Company Description: Officially created in 1928, General Mills traces it's history back to the 1860's and the ownership of two flour mills. Since then, the company has become the world's 6th largest food company - marketing to over 100 countries... Read on and see all cereals from General Mills

It really did stay crunchy in milk - more so than any other cereal I've had before or since.

Loved this stuff. Around 1996, I found a box of Honey Bran in my parents cereal stash 2 years expired (they got large quantities from my dad's friend). Figured what the heck, opened it up and tried one... was as crispy and as fresh as day one. Was so crunchy, didn't get soggy in milk. Miss this stuff terribly. I still have a coupon with no expiration date, so by all means bring it back!

I can't believe I cannot find this (these) cereals anywhere anymore. Ripple Crisp was one of the best cereals I've ever had, alongside Raisin Nut Bran and Honey Nut Clusters. Why did this cereal have to leave the shelf? Somebody get back to re-stocking this please! This cereal was just fantastic.
