Oatmeal With Dates
(1 serving) Printable Version
- 1 cup oats (not quick oats)
- 1 cup dates (pitted and halved)
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups water
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon brown sugar
How To Make Oatmeal With Dates
Bring water to a boil. Add salt. Add rolled oats slowly. Cook over low flame in a double boiler.
Cook 45 minutes.
When done, add the dates. Mix thoroughly. Serve with milk and brown sugar.
This seems simple, but the dates really add a terrific flavor.

Way too much sugar and too many ingredients... Just do 2 parts water, 1 part oats and 15 to 20 dates in a pot. Cook it. Eat it. Done.
