From a 1933 issue of The Parents' Magazine, an ad for Kellogg's Pep Bran Flakes with the heading, "They need crisp, nourishing food for winter energy."

Additional text: "Doctors and nutritionists tell us - Eat food that has abundant energy stored in it. And eat food that digests easily and quickly." Children especially need the body-warmth (called calories) that wheat provides. Kellogg's Pep is also an ideal food for active people of all ages. Delicious. Crisp."
