Vintage 1955 CANCO Breakfast Ad

This vintage recipe is from a 1955 ad from the American Can Company. According to the ad, "Better breakfasts begin with food from Canco cans... try this Berkshire Breakfast and see! If it comes in a Canco can - it comes to you at its best!"

This retro recipe is easy to prepare using store-bought biscuit mix and canned cranberry sauce. It calls for canned almonds, but regular chopped almonds will work. From a 1955 advertisement for the American Can Company.

Rating (out of 5):

I made a vanilla glaze with a cup and a half powder sugar, 2 or 3 Tablespoons milk and a teaspoon vanilla extract. I drizzled that all over the cooled coffee cake. It was amazing!
