Cafe Vanilla
(1 serving) Printable Version
- 3/4 cup strongly brewed coffee
- 1/2 vanilla bean
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon brown sugar
- cinnamon or nutmeg - for garnish
Slice the 1/2 vanilla bean lengthwise. Place the vanilla bean, milk and brown sugar in a small saucepan. Bring to a gentle boil - stirring occasionally. Remove from heat as soon as it starts boiling. Set aside and let steep for 10 minutes.
Using an immersion blender, bend the milk mixture until frothy - about 20 seconds. Alternatively, you can place the milk mixture in a standard blender and blend on high until foamy.
Pour the coffee into a serving cup. Top with the vanilla-infused milk. Top with a dash of cinnamon or nutmeg.
Enjoy!
Treat yourself to a special coffee topped with frothy vanilla-infused milk with just a hint of sweetness.

We liked it. Easy way to make regular coffee more fun. Probably more appropriate with dessert in the evening (like we did) than for breakfast. But very good, none the less.
