Chex Granola (Microwave)

(9 servings)    Printable Version
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 Tablespoons honey
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  • 3 cups Wheat or Corn Chex cereal (or combination)
  • 1/2 cup flakes coconut
  • 2 Tablespoons sunflower nuts
  • 2 Tablespoons wheat germ
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
In a small bowl, combine oil, honey and vanilla.

In a large bowl, combine all the remaining ingredients.

Pour honey/oil mixture over the Chex mixture and stir until evenly coated.

Microwave on HIGH for 3 to 4 minutes or until the coconut and cereal begin to toast -- stirring once every minute.

Allow granola to cool in the bowl. Stir occasionally during cooling. Store tightly covered.

Makes about 3 cups.

If this is from when Chex was Ralston/Purnia and not General Mills.... it's GREAT !!! It's the only reason I buy wheat germ!
