Pa Amb Tom Aquet (Spain)

  • 2 pounds country white bread
  • 1/2 pound of red tomatoes
  • 0.8kg (about 28 ounces) ham (parma or iberican) if posible
  • 0.1l (about 2 teaspoons) of olive oil
  • salt
Slice the bread to 1/2". Cut the mature tomato by the middle. Spread (rub) the tomato through (over) the slices of bread. Dress with some virgine olive oil and salt and serve under the ham.


You can also toast the bread and spread some garlic before the tomato.

Hi Mr Breakfast,

I hope you'll find the time the correct the outrageous spelling of the word tomaquet that you currently have. It's tomaquet, with no capitals, no circumflexes, no Euro's, just a left-slanted accent on top of the 'a'. Thanks! Also mayo I add, for your vegan readers, that the ham can be left out completely and the result will be as very traditional, if not more.
