While visiting my aunt and uncle in St. Peters, I encouraged them to come here for breakfast on a Saturday morning. I found this place on Yelp in Oakland, California, while prepping for my trip back to see Mom in Kansas City, and sandwiched in a drive to St. Peters to see auntie and uncle. I wanted a sweet place for breakfast that was easy on the eyes and easy on the wallet. This was both.

Cute and clean, with kitschy vintage kitchen tools, accessories and signage on the walls. Very warm and inviting interior, this is a converted home made into a great little restaurant with several dining niches. Got a seat right away for the three of us, although a group of 7 had to wait about 20 minutes to be seated (they had to put 3 tables together for them).

Nancy took our order right away, and auntie loved her biscuits and gravy. Uncle enjoyed eggs and pancakes, and I ordered a veggie omelette with ham... now, I'm a very picky egg eater, and if the egg isn't well-done, it gets sent back. I explained to Nancy that I wanted the egg cooked on one side and flipped before filling. She said that's what the chef does for well-cooked.

It was great. Veggies even though not really in season, were plentiful and delicious. Eggs were good, hash browns were perfect (moist but not greasy, with a nice crisp crust). Toast could have been of higher quality bread (average wheat) and the butter was a bit "spongy" on the bread, but I'll still give it four stars for the egg omelette, hash browns, service and ambience.

If they had rye toast, that would have been the fifth star.

It's popular with the locals, in Old Town St. Peters.

Worth the trip, and the prices were right. (Omelette with all the trimmings was only $7.90).

In California, we'd call that CHEAP. In St. Peters, it was simply a very nice price for breakfast.

I'd come again next time I'm in town.

Great breakfast variety. Farmers, fire fighters, etc. from the area come regularly. Have tried all the places mentioned for breakfast within the St. Charles County area and we still prefer Main Street Diner.
