The Spot disappeared from the Pasadena scene several years ago, and seems to have changed to a catering business. It still advertises a Sunday jazz brunch, but I am wary that it may be ancient internet detail. Obviously, we have not been there since its move, but would be willing to give it another shot, since we did love it before it went off the radar.

New address: 1936 W Glenoaks Blvd, Glendale. Phone: (818) 861-7335.

i cant believe all the reviews this place has that nominate it for best breakfast ever. it was about the worst breakfast food i've ever eaten. the service was very good. i ordered poached eggs benedict [cant remember the name] that came with what the waitress described as a red sauce with bell peppers so i asked for it on the side. the poached eggs came and had been put on the bread wet so they were sitting on very soggy bread and i was glad i asked for the sauce on the side because it was aweful, the potatoes that were on the side were like burnt kibble, i also ordered grits and it was watery without flavor. they had a tv playing a music station not live music. i cant figure out how this place got great reviews, its just not possible.

Three of us went there on Sunday and it was AMAZING!!! All 3 breakfasts were fantasic. I had the vegetarian omelet, my boyfriend had Sid's omelet, and my sister had Backa the Bayou...tasted all three and each one of the three was worth the trip alone. Waitress wasn't the nicest- but you don't have to be when the food is so good. The place is a cool little joint with fish tanks and there was live jazz music. Oh, and the best part of all....we saw John C. Reilly right outside (SHAKE & BAKE!).

I went to the Spot on a Sunday afternoon, I was very impressed by the atmosphere, Live Jazz Band very smooth playing in the corner, there were a few cute mature couples there when we arrived, we ordered the tri-tip breakfast and split it, they gave us these yummy powdered balls they look like dounut holes but taste like funnel cake...yummy...food was DELICIOUS..you got to go..this is nice for couples, parents, casual calm date...I will be back soon I finally found THE SPOT!!!

I went to the spot on the rexcommendations from this sight and I was so glad I did. This restaurant is funky, informal and down right friendly. I had the oatmeal souffle - quite a treat with a rum raison sauce and lots of brown sugar mmmmm! My friend had the pork chop and eggs - the chops were fork tender - the gravy - was real. I will be back to the spot

This is a great, out of the way, neighborhood bistro that has live jazz music on the weekend brunches. The menu is very interesting and creative, remiscent of New Orleans fare. One of the best french toasts I have ever tasted. And they bring freshly fried bengnets (sp?) to your table when you sit down. Yum. Good service and friendly atmosphere. Good coffee. We will be regulars there.
Serves breakfast, lunch and dinner, but Sundays they close after brunch. I think they close Mondays. Parking is limited.

I Just wrote a review for this restaurant under Vintage Cafe. The current owners, who have been running the business for 6 months finally made it official and had to change the name.

Check it out, great breakfast, good service, live jazz, and great coffee. I had the french bread pudding toast. What more can I say than the ultimate way to have french toast, and quite original. Fresh whipped cream strawberries and strawberry puree. Heavenly!!! My husband being an egg kind of guy, had te back de bayou, his eggs were perfect, and the gravy was to die for. The owner mentioned that the her regular customers like to make smothered breakfast burritos with the gravy. Quite a load from the looks of it, but great if you plan on lounging all day long.

They do have fresh homemade waffles that are not on the menu yet, but if you ask for them, they come with fresh berries, and homemade vanilla whip cream.

This place has it going on. I recommend checking it out.
