After a fire, The Scarlett Tree is open again! The portions are generous, it has a good kids' menu. The huevos reancheros was too tomatoey and the cheese wasn't dispersed evenly but overall it was good. The scones are awesome!

Just so no one is disappointed, this restaurant - though it was great! - no longer exists.

This was an awesome and loved spot for breakfast, but has been closed for some time now.

When I moved into the Roosevelt neighborhood in January 2006, I was jazzed at the idea of being only blocks from the Scarlet Tree.

Until I actually went around the corner and learned it had burned down a few weeks earlier.

They're not going to rebuild. Only the building and memories of really excellent hangover remedies remain.

Live jazz music at night, and it's on a fun street.
