The fact is sometimes the food is excellent and sometimes its bad. I love it when they say "here's your toast" and it is white and "untoasted". Omelette's, watch them make them. They ladle in the the eggs and then add the ingredients. I thought you cooked them and then flip the omelet over then add the fillings, no wonder my omelet is always runny. I ate there 11/11/07 and it was good. Love the country sausage

The overall rating should have an asterisk (*) because it should be between Pretty Bad and Okay.
My family and I have been eating at Jim's for ions! Don't get me wrong Jim's WAS the best place in the Bay Area for Breakfast for years (my great Uncle owned Pete's Market on the corner in the '50's and sixties).
It just seems lately that they have forgotten what has got them to where they are.
That is GOOD CONSISTENT QUALITY PRODUCT AND SERVICE!
There was a time that I never had to worry about how my omelet would turn out (my family and I ate there at least twice a weak).
The last couple of times I've gone there, the waiter was in a constant state of "...what was I just about to do?"
I've had to send my omelet back twice. Once three times and by time I got what I had ordered, it was tough as shoe leather.
Any cook that can not cook eggs right the first time, should not be a cook. (been there, done that!).
The ability to speak the language of the land would help too.
The bottom line is this: I never ever in my wildest dreams thought that I would be writing anything negative about Jim's at all and as for all of the people that I have recommended Jim's to. I've had to apologize.

The food is good but I can't help but notice that this place is kind of dirty. We stopped eating there a while ago.

Massive quantities of good old American classics. The hash browns are excellent as well as their breakfast meats (ham, bacon). Pancakes & egg dishes are great too. Everything is yummy! Neck & neck with Ole's for the best breakfast in town!
