KFC Buttermilk Biscuits
(6 servings) Printable Version
- 1/2 cup butter (1 stick) - melted
- 3 Tablespoons sugar
- 1 large egg - beaten
- 3/4 cup buttermilk
- 1/4 cup club soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 5 cups biscuit mix
Combine all ingredients and knead by hand or mixer until smooth. Flour your hands and pat dough into 3/4 inch thickness on floured surface.
Cut out with biscuit cutter or glass turned upside down. Bake on greased baking sheet for 12 minutes
This recipe transforms a standard biscuit mix into something a little more special. It'll hopefully remind you of some world famous biscuits you may have tried.

Even better than KFC biscuits which are sometimes greasy on the outside. These were great with spicy sausage patties.

KFC uses Crisco. At least, they did ages ago when I worked there.

Thank you for this incredible recipe! The biscuits were moist, dense and flavorful. They were not as greasy as KFC biscuits; excellent!

It stands for "Kentucky Fried Chicken". It's a restaurant chain in the United States that has pretty good biscuits. Has anybody made these? I'd like to try but don't wanna go first.
