Super Oatmeal Smoothie
(1 serving) Printable Version
- 1 cup apple juice
- 1 frozen banana (or any frozen fruit)
- 3 heaping Tablespoons of uncooked quick oats
- 3 Tablespoons of maple syrup (or to your taste)
- 2 Tablespoons wheat germ (optional)
This is a great recipe to alter to fit your tastes. Instead of apple juice, you could use orange juice. Instead of maple syrup, you could use honey. Also consider replacing half of the juice component with vanilla yogurt. If I make this in the evening, I'll even sneak in a couple tablespoons of ice cream if I have it.
A basic oatmeal banana smoothie that's easy to adjust to your personal tastes.

Blend the oats by themselves first so the pieces are very small. I do this all the time and you don't notice the oats, except for that it makes the smoothie thicker.
