Serniki Czyli Maldrzki (Poland)

  • 2 cups dry cottage cheese
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 Tablespoons cream
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup raisins
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
Force cheese through sieve. Add eggs, cream, and sugar and beat thoroughly. Add flour and raisins.

Roll into balls in the palm of your hands. Flatten and with a thimble make depression in center. Fry in butter. Fill depression with cooked fruit, sprinkle with cinnamon and serve with sour cream.

To say "Good morning" in Polish, say "Dzien dobry" (pronounced dzhehn dobri).

Why is this listed under baked goods? It is traditionally fried in butter as the recipe suggests, it is not a baked goods...
