Bisquick Breakfast Pie

  • 2 cups Bisquick
  • 2/3 cups milk
  • 2 cups thinly sliced onions
  • 2 Tablespoons butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • freshly ground pepper
  • fine herbs - to taste
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1 large egg
Preheat the oven to 450 degrees.

Place butter in a large skillet over high heat. Add the onions and saute them until tender and browned. Season them with salt, pepper and fine herbs.

Add milk to Bisquick and stir with a fork into a soft dough. Roll out on a floured board into a 10-inch square. Pat well into a well-greased 8-inch-square pan. Spoon the onions evenly over the top of the dough.

Beat the egg and sour cream together with a whisk until smooth. Pour evenly over the onions and bake about 20 minutes, until lightly browned. Cut and serve.
