Mam-mam's Apple Crisp

Mam-mam's Apple Crisp

(6 servings)    Printable Version
  • 6 cups sliced pared baking apples
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 1/2 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup quick cooking rolled oats
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 4 tablespoons softened butter
Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

Lightly butter an oblong glass baking dish. Do not use a metal pan. Toss apples with 1/4 cup white sugar and place evenly in dish.

Mix together remaining ingredients to make a crumbly topping.

Place evenly over apple slices.

Bake for 30 minutes until apples are soft and topping is crunchy.

This is sooooo good served warm with milk or vanilla ice cream. However, it's best eaten the first day. The topping will become soggy from moisture in the apples.
