Rosemary Mustard Sausage Patties

Rosemary Mustard Sausage Patties

(12 servings)    Printable Version
  • 1 Tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 medium onion - finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon fresh chopped rosemary
  • 1 14-ounce package of breakfast sausage
  • 2 teaspoons whole grain mustard
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
I enjoyed these sausage patties, but the transformation from traditional sausage to something new wasn't as dramatic as I'd hoped for. I would definitely increase the amount of rosemary to at least 2 teaspoons next time. The amount of onion was fine. I thought the process of baking the patties yielded terrific results, but it also yielded a lot of smoke which set off our fire alarm. I would probably fry the patties if I made this again. Overall, this was a fun experiment that could use some fine tuning. (This recipe was submitted in 2007. It was tested and photographed in January 2016.)

This is great as a side dish. We also love putting it on buttered toast and calling that breakfast.
