Apple Cinnamon Syrup

Apple Cinnamon Syrup

(12 servings)    Printable Version
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 cups apple cider (apple juice works too)
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 2 Tablespoons cornstarch
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1 and 1/2 Tablespoon real lemon juice
In a sauce pan combine all ingredients except the butter. Bring mixture to a low boil, stiring often. Reduce heat to low and add butter. Stir until butter is melted and well mixed.

Serve warm over pancakes or waffles.

This stores well in the refridgerator for a week. Warm in a sauce pan or microwave oven before using again.

I haven't bought syrup from the grocery store in years thanks to this and a couple other homemade syrup recipes. Enjoy!

We all loved it over waffles this morning. Made enough for two family breakfasts, so we'll have it again in the next couple of days.

I have stored in mason jars in my fridge for weeks at a time... I was looking for a recipe like the syrup they were serving at Cracker Barrel during their fall favorites season... This one is even BETTER!

From how long?

Can this syrup be placed in small jars & kept for an indefinite time?
