Spasso is a new Italian restaurant, serving authentic Italian food, and run by an actual Italian chef who has an actual Italian accent. They recently started serving brunch Saturdays and Sundays, 9 to 2:30.

They call it a European Style Crepe Brunch. There are several fantastic crepes, both sweet and savory. The Provo Roma (onions, mushroom, pancetta) is my favorite savory. It's actually two crepes, served with potatoes and a small salad, for only $7.

The unfortunately named "A Monkey Named Hazel's Nuts" is the best sweet crepe. It's two crepes, filled with sliced bananas, chopped walnuts, and Nutella, and topped with chocolate sauce and whipped cream. I order it for dessert.

They also serve breakfast pizzas -- the one with scrambled egg, asparagus, and prosciutto is especially good.

You can order pancakes, or an omelette, or eggs and bacon, but you can get those anywhere, so I haven't tried them. And because it's brunch, they offer pasta, panini, and salads as well.

There's no place serving anything like it in the county. And it's half a block from the beach! You can sit inside and look out at the beach, or on the little patio along the side. The service is great. And it's half a block from the beach!
