Warm a tablespoon of margarine in pan. Dip bread into mixture and put in pan. Fry 4 pieces of bread at a time adding more margarine as needed. Fry only until bread is light brown. No more sugar or sypur is needed. Enjoy! My grandmother raised me and this was one of the best breakfast food we enjoyed. She was a little cajun lady. Best I ever tasted! I used less sugar and added cinnamon! Comment submitted: 3/1/2012 (#13596) From DomesticDiva My dad used to make this for me all of the time. My grandmother was also a little Cajun lady also. This is great. My kids love it... Comment submitted: 7/31/2010 (#10994) From tinktink613

This sounds like my grandmas recipe....oh so familiar. I altered the ingredients a bit went less on the sugar and added lots of cinnamon right into the mixture. I have to rely on the family whom I made it for because I dont' eat French Toast and I'm happy to say it was a huge success. Comment submitted: 10/27/2006 (#574) You Might Also Like These Recipes:
