Peanut Butter And Jelly French Toast

Peanut Butter And Jelly French Toast

(2 servings)    Printable Version
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon milk
  • 4 slices of bread
  • 2 Tablespoons peanut butter
  • 2 Tablespoons of your favorite jelly of jam
  • butter or cooking spray - for frying
  • powdered sugar - for topping
This recipe was submitted way back in 2002 by "The Boss". It's now April 1, 2018 and I decided to try it because tomorrow (4/2) is National Peanut Butter & Jelly Day. I loved the results but had to adjust the recipe just slightly. I found that I needed 2 large eggs and 2 Tablespoons milk to completely coat 2 sandwiches with the egg mixture. Other than that, this was a terrific recipe. Like someone already said in the comments, "If you love French toast and you love peanut butter and jelly, you're gonna love Peanut Butter And Jelly French Toast!"

How To Make Peanut Butter And Jelly French Toast

Beat egg and milk together in a shallow bowl. Make two peanut butter and jelly sandwiches as you normally would.

Dip sandwiches into the egg mixture - gently soaking the exposed outer sides of the sandwiches.

Melt butter in a frying pan over medium heat (or spray generously with cooking spray).

Fry each side of the sandwiches until golden brown.

Serve sprinkled with powdered sugar.

One of my favorite breakfast places serves a version of this called "PB&J Goes To France." Its my favorite!!! The only thing I changed is I seared the sandwich in a skillet and then finished it in the oven. 250 for 10-15 min. It was awesome.

Fun! My first look, I though it was weird, but then it just seemed like an interesting stuffed French Toast. Proof was in the taste... great!
