The line of people out the door can't all be wrong. This place is so crowded for brunch, it's ridiculous. Excellent vegan/vegetarian options even if you are a carnivore. Hipster classification does apply (yes i live a block from here and I do wear black rimmed glasses and own a lot of vinyl) - which raises the prices a little. The sister restaurant across the street (Eatonville) also has a super-great brunch.

I can't say enough good things about this place... great location (right by the u-street metro stop), great inspiration, great atmostphere, and most importantly, GREAT FOOD!! They have great vgan/vegetarian options, though they also serve meat. The place was named after Langston Hughes' encounter with an established poet when he was just a busboy... the menu explains it all. They have the greatest variety of food and even have poetry slams.
