Waffle Shop rules! I like the half-smoke end eggs or corned-beef hash and eggs. A great place to eat before seeing some museums or visiting Capitol Mall, as the food is clean tasty and satisfying. It's very popular with locals. It's crowded and you'll either be eating at the bar or with your table 1 inch from the next table, but the staff and other patrons are fun.

This place is the best place in the Washington DC area that has the most DELICIOUS breakfast ever!!! My specialty is the porkchop and eggs! OMG they have the BEST porkchop EVER!!! I travel on the metro to go get breakfast. Don't forget to try their morning special as well!

When there was a rumor that they closed, I almost had a fit. But they just moved a couple of door down. The place is a little small but much bigger than their old location but the food is DELISH!

It's hard to find an honest waffle in DC, unless it's a trendy, Tryst-y, blueberry-granola monster that'll run you 8 bucks for the trouble.

The Waffle Shop (formerly in the ostentatious, art-deco building up the block that still bears its name) doesn't buy into that. A basic waffle or two (with butter pre-melted on top - for efficiency, you know), choice of meat, a couple huge eggs, and coffee will set you back less than a Hamilton after a generous tip.

Once you seat yourself and flag down a server, they're friendly, attentive, and don't hold back on the coffee. The location in Penn Quarter guarantees an eclectic and conversational mix of all classes - but, in spite of its position amid all the tour bus stations, few tourists.
