My husband and I tried the Flour City Diner the other day because our friends really like it. I have to say I was a little disappointed. I was told that everything was homemade - bread, jam, etc. - but this wasn't the case. I ordered a summer special, the deconstructed BLT: scrambled eggs with leeks, bacon, and fried green tomatoes ($8.95, about average). My eggs were under-seasoned and rubbery, the bread definitely came from a bag and was soaked with margarine, and the jam was jelly in a foil-wrapped package. My husband's peach pancakes (another summer special), were tasty, however. The owner hovered a little and I overheard him say to our waitress to "push the french toast." The service was pretty good and the decor is quirky, and as we left a band was setting up to play. We may come back to try the aforementioned french toast, but neither one of us was wowed by the experience.

Homemade EVERYTHING, including the sausages. Specialities include Bourbon Raisin French Toast, blintzes, frittatas, and a different eggs benedict every week. Great atmosphere.
